Hey there, I’m Jon Straub. I’m an actor working and living in St. Louis, Missouri.

I'm a bit of a late bloomer in the world of entertainment. Born and raised in St. Louis, I grew up with a love of my local sports teams and getting asked which high school I attended. It was during my time at Christian Brothers College High School, great name I know, that my path began to form. I worked for the student paper all four years and was on the school bowling team in the fall. In my senior year, I took a theater production class and it got me wanting to jump right into the next performance. I was in A Christmas Carol, Footloose, and Arsenic and Old Lace to round out my senior year. It was a great experience that helped lead me to being a performer.

Once I graduated, I attended the University of Missouri - Columbia (Mizzou) for four years. I shifted away from print work and geared more towards broadcast. I worked at the student-run television station and later KOMU, the local news station associated with the university. On the side, I even did some play-by-play for Prepcasts, a St. Louis high school sports broadcasting site. However, something seemed missing. I loved telling stories and having new experiences, but I didn't feel like I was in the right place. I continued to pursue my degree while I searched for what my career would be.

You have been chosen, and you must therefore use such strength and heart and wits as you have.

As I reflected on my life, hobbies, and talents, I had a revelation. I grew up enjoying the cartoons of my youth and experiencing new worlds through video games. Why not become a part of that? I decided that I would become a voice actor. I would utilize my vocal talent to bring life to characters like those I grew up with and enjoy working with the people and fans of the industry.

On my way to becoming a voice actor, I knew I had to become a great actor first. This lead me to Creative Actors. With them, I've learned how to bring life to any character I play on screen. Now, I continue to work both on screen and behind a microphone to make characters and worlds come to life!
